Healthcare Leaders Voice Challenges for Viksit Bharat @2047
Ahmedabad, October 2025 – ZealousWeb Technologies Pvt. Ltd., in association with Peers Global, and supported by VyapaarJagat.com, hosted an exclusive Healthcare Industry Roundtable to highlight pressing challenges faced by the healthcare ecosystem. This initiative was designed as a precursor to the launch of the Healthopedia Circle under Peers Global Ahmedabad, bringing together 15 leading doctors, wellness experts, entrepreneurs, and industry stakeholders.
The roundtable was not about offering solutions but about raising and documenting the real challenges that healthcare leaders encounter today, especially in the context of India’s vision of Viksit Bharat @2047.
Challenges Highlighted by Industry Leaders
Digital Adoption Still Low in Healthcare
- Kandarp Bhatt, Founder of ZealousWeb (Digital Transformation Agency), emphasized that many healthcare businesses still lack structured digital systems like software, websites, branding, and automation. This slows down patient engagement and prevents healthcare services from scaling.
Rising Lifestyle Disorders Without Preventive Focus
- Namrata Shah (Nutritionist & Fitness Coach) pointed to the growing number of diabetes, BP, and lifestyle disorder patients. She stressed that people want quick fixes but avoid adopting a sustainable lifestyle change.
Limited Reach of Physiotherapy & Rehab Services
- Dr. Deepal Vala (Care Place Physiotherapy Center) observed that physiotherapy, though essential for orthopedic, neuro, cardiac, and oncology rehab, is still undervalued and underutilized. Many patients don’t even know they need it.
Elderly Care Gap Due to Breaking Joint Families
- Piyush Vaidya (Family Member Group) revealed how the collapse of joint family systems has left many elders without support. His company caters to over 200 elders daily but the demand is far higher.
Policy Gaps & Medical-Legal Pressure on Doctors
Dr. Hemang Shah (Anesthesiologist) raised strong concerns including:
- Doctors being held accountable under the Consumer Protection Act, while lawyers and judges are not.
- Government-set prices under PMJY being too low (₹3,000–₹5,000 for a delivery).
- Falling quality of medical seats — students qualifying with just 20% marks will weaken the next generation of doctors.
Doctors Struggle to Build Trust with Gen Z Patients
- Mitesh Shah, Founder & CEO of Acuity Digital Agency (Content Marketing Expert), explained that Gen Z patients no longer rely on word-of-mouth referrals but search online. Most doctors lack digital presence, leading to trust gaps.
Health Insurance Costs Rising Due to Preventable Issues
- Rachit Pandya, Founder & Director of Dera Advisors Pvt. Ltd. (Insurance Expert), shared data that out of ₹82,000 crore claims paid yearly, 75% come from preventable lifestyle diseases. Despite this, IVF and advanced treatments are not covered.
Lack of IVF Insurance Coverage
- Dr. Sheetal Punjabi, Founder of Shashwat IVF & Women’s Hospital (IVF Specialist with 29 years’ experience), highlighted that IVF patients are forced to rely on EMI and NBFC loans, as no insurance policy supports them. This leaves families financially stressed.
Unqualified Trainers in Fitness Industry
- Azhar Pathan, Founder & MD of Alpha Performers (Fitness Analyst), cautioned that many people follow untrained, uncertified gym instructors, risking injuries and long-term health problems.
Need for Cross-Sector Collaboration
- Anil Singh (FinTech Entrepreneur & Rotary Leader) reminded participants that healthcare cannot grow in isolation. From stress management and suicide prevention to financial tools and organ donation, multiple industries need to come together for a healthier India.
Purpose Behind the Roundtable
